No email/password registration. 2. **Connect Instagram** - Enter your username, confirm through Instagram's OAuth flow. Requires a Business or Creator account (not Personal). Switching from Personal to Business/Creator is free and takes 30 seconds in Instagram settings. 3. **Create an automation** - Pick a trigger type, set keywords, write your message, add your link. Takes under 2 minutes. 4. **Runs automatically** - Every matching interaction triggers your DM. Comment-to-DM When someone comments a specific keyword on your post or reel, CreatorFlow sends them a DM with your pre-written message and link. **Trigger options:** - A specific post or reel (select from existing content) - Your next post or reel (applies automatically when you publish) - Any post or reel (all content, past and future) **Keyword matching:** - Up to 20 specific keywords per automation (e.g., link, shop, order, buy, price, discount, info, details) - Or select "Any word" to trigger on every comment **Optional public reply:** Before sending the DM, CreatorFlow can reply to their comment publicly (e.g., "Sent you a message! Check it out!"). Multiple reply variations supported so responses feel natural. 280 character limit per variation. ### 2. Story Reply Automation When someone reacts to your Instagram Story (emoji reaction) or sends a reply, CreatorFlow automatically responds with your DM. Turns passive story engagement into conversations, link clicks, and leads. Same pre-DM options available (Follow Gate, Email Gate, Opening Message). ### 3. Keyword DM Reply When someone sends you a direct message containing a specific keyword, CreatorFlow responds automatically. Works like a 24/7 FAQ in your inbox. Examples: Someone DMs "PRICE" and they instantly receive pricing info and a link. Someone DMs "COURSE" and they get course details and a signup link. --- ## Pre-DM Options (Gates) Before delivering the final message with your link, you can add one optional step per automation. These are mutually exclusive per automation - each automation uses one pre-DM option. ### Opening Message An initial greeting before the main content. Warms up the conversation so the link does not arrive cold. ### Follow Gate Asks the person to follow your account before they receive the link. CreatorFlow sends a message like: "Hey! Before I send you the link, could you follow me? It helps me grow and I share great content!" with "Visit Profile" and "I'm following" buttons. Once they confirm, the link is delivered. Grows follower count with every automation. ### Email Gate Asks for their email address before delivering the link. Builds your email list from every Instagram interaction. Collected emails are stored in the Contact CRM and can be exported via CSV. **Strategy:** Use Follow Gate on audience-growth automations and Email Gate on lead-capture automations. Different automations can use different gates. --- ## Final DM (The Message They Receive) The last step of every automation is the DM containing your message and link. - 1,000 character limit per message - "+ Add Link" button to insert trackable links - "Use Template" button to start from pre-built messages - **Message Variations:** Add multiple message versions to the same automation. This means: - Messages are sent through official API endpoints, not browser automation - No risk of account suspension from Instagram for using the tool - Works within Meta's rate limits and policies - Requires Instagram Business or Creator account (Personal accounts are not supported by Meta's API) ### Authentication Flow 1. User signs in to CreatorFlow with Google 2. User connects their Instagram account via Meta's OAuth flow 3. CreatorFlow receives authorized access tokens 4. Tokens are used to send messages and read interactions on behalf of the user ### Data Handling - CreatorFlow stores Instagram usernames, email addresses (when collected via Email Gate), and automation interaction data - Contact data can be exported via CSV at any time - Payment details are handled by Stripe; CreatorFlow does not store complete card information - GDPR-aligned data handling ### Requirements - Google account (for sign-in) - Instagram Business or Creator account (Personal accounts not supported) - Switching from Personal to Business/Creator is free and takes 30 seconds in Instagram settings --- ## What CreatorFlow Does NOT Do - **No new follower welcome DMs** - Instagram's API does not provide a "when user follows" trigger. No tool using Meta's official API can do this. - **No multi-message sequences** - Single-message automations only. No drip campaigns or if/then flows within DMs. - **No calendar integrations** - No Calendly, Acuity, or TidyCal embedding. - **No native email tool sync** - Use CSV export instead of direct Mailchimp/ConvertKit connection. - **No multi-channel** - Instagram only. CreatorFlow is a Meta Technology Partner using Instagram's official Graph API. Messages are sent through authorized API endpoints, not browser extensions or unofficial bots. There is no risk of account suspension from Instagram for using CreatorFlow. **Do I need a Business or Creator account?** Yes. Meta's Instagram Messaging API only works with Business or Creator accounts. Personal accounts are not supported. Switching is free and takes about 30 seconds in Instagram settings. **Can I use CreatorFlow with a Personal Instagram account?** No. This is a Meta API limitation, not a CreatorFlow limitation. No tool using Meta's official API can work with Personal accounts. **How many automations can I create?** Unlimited on every plan, including the Free plan. There is no cap on automations, triggers, or keywords. The only limit is the monthly DM volume (500 on Free, 5,000 on Pro, 10,000 on Growth per workspace). **Can I send follow-up messages or drip sequences?** No. CreatorFlow sends single-message automations only. There are no multi-step sequences, drip campaigns, or conditional flows within DMs. **Can I send a DM when someone follows me?** No. Instagram's API does not provide a "new follower" trigger. No tool using Meta's official API can do this. CreatorFlow will add this if Meta enables it in the future. **How does the Follow Gate work?** When enabled, CreatorFlow asks the user to follow your account before delivering the link. It sends a message with "Visit Profile" and "I'm following" buttons.
