Stay compliant, keep your account

Amazon bans affiliates for cloaking and unsolicited links faster than for anything else. Follow these four rules and you are on the safe side.

1

Keep the Amazon domain visible

Never hide the link behind a branded short URL that masks where it goes. Cloaking is the #1 reason Associates accounts get banned. The web link above shows 'amazon' on purpose.

2

Only send to people who asked

Amazon allows links in DMs when the message is solicited, like a follower commenting a keyword on your post. Never cold-DM affiliate links to people who did not ask.

3

Always add the disclosure

Include 'As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases' in the message. Missing the disclosure is a material breach of Amazon's agreement.

4

Declare your channel

List Instagram (and any site or app where you share links) in your Associates Central account. Sharing from undeclared channels can get your account blocked.

What this Amazon deeplink generator does

Creators lose Amazon commissions on Instagram for one reason: a normal Amazon link opens Instagram's in-app browser, where the shopper is not signed in. Many leave before buying, and the affiliate cookie can be dropped. This free tool builds two links from your product so you can fix that.

A clean, tagged web link

The standard https://www.amazon.com/dp/ASIN?tag=yourtag-20 link. It works on every device, shows the Amazon domain (so it is compliant), and carries your commission tag. This is your safe default for DMs, bio links, and stories.

An app deeplink

A com.amazon.mobile.shopping.web:// link that tells mobile devices to open the native Amazon app straight to your product, where the shopper is already signed in. Higher intent, fewer taps to checkout. On desktop, fall back to the web link.

Your tag, never touched

Both links keep your Associates tag exactly as you entered it. The tool runs entirely in your browser, changes nothing about your tag, and stores nothing.

Honest limits

  • Raw app deeplinks are reliable inside the app ecosystem but can be fragile as a bare link. For best results, the app link is meant to sit behind a redirect that detects the device and preserves the tag.
  • If the Amazon app is not installed, the device falls back to the Amazon website. Always keep the web link as your backup.
  • Short links (amzn.to, a.co) hide the ASIN, so expand them to the full product URL before pasting.
Manual links vs. automated DMs

Generating the link is step one. Delivering it the instant a follower asks is where the commission is won.

Sharing links by hand

Link in bio, manual replies

  • Followers buy before you reply to the comment
  • You copy-paste the same product link all day
  • No way to know which post drove which sale
  • Prime Day and Black Friday traffic slips away while you sleep
  • Follower comments your keyword, the link lands in under a minute, 24/7
  • Solicited by design, the comment is the opt-in Amazon asks for
  • Track which product and post convert
  • Captures the sale inside Amazon's short commission window

Amazon affiliate link generator: questions

What is an Amazon deeplink?+

An Amazon deeplink opens the native Amazon app instead of an in-app browser. Shoppers who land in the app are already signed in, so they buy in fewer taps and your affiliate tag is more likely to track the sale. The web link still works everywhere; the deeplink is the mobile upgrade.

Does this keep my Amazon Associates commission?+

Yes. The tool adds your Associates tag (tag=yourtag-20) to both links and never changes or hides it. Paste your real tag and the link is attributed to your account.

Is sharing Amazon affiliate links in Instagram DMs allowed?+

Amazon's Associates agreement (updated October 2025) permits Special Links in direct messages when the message is solicited (the person asked for it, e.g. by commenting a keyword) and they can opt out. Keep the Amazon domain visible, add the disclosure, and list Instagram in Associates Central.

Will the app deeplink work on every phone?+

On mobile with the Amazon app installed, the deeplink opens the app to your product. If the app is not installed, the device falls back to the Amazon website. On desktop, use the web link. For the most reliable app-open across devices, the deeplink should sit behind a device-aware redirect.

Why not just use a short link like bit.ly?+

A short link that hides the Amazon domain is cloaking, the single most common reason Amazon bans Associates. Keep 'amazon' visible in the link you share. If you want a tidy link, use Amazon's own amzn.to shortener, which is allowed.

Do you store the links I generate?+

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent to a server or stored.
