How Much Does Instagram Pay Per View? No Public Rate

How much does Instagram pay per view? It publishes no rate, and most creators get $0 for views. See what bonuses, Features, badges and brand deals pay in 2026.

How Much Does Instagram Pay Per View? No Public Rate

How much does Instagram pay per view? Instagram publishes no per-view rate, and most creators earn $0 from it for views alone. Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, said in October 2026 that creators are paid primarily by brands. A small invite-only bonus program rewards performance, and some Features test creators get direct funding. Every “per 1,000 views” number online is an estimate.

That gap causes a real planning problem. You search the question and find answers from a few cents to $20 per 1,000 views, sometimes on the same page. A creator who trusts those numbers may plan income around a Reel going viral, then see no payment from Instagram after 1 million views.

This guide separates what Meta says from what other people estimate. It covers each direct Instagram program, the Features test, Facebook Content Monetization, and what brands, fans and affiliate programs pay. It also uses simple arithmetic to show why a “per 1,000 views” figure tells you so little. For the full list of income methods, read our guide on how to make money on Instagram.

Key Takeaways

  • Per-view rate: Instagram publishes none. Its earn-money pages list no rate per view or per 1,000 views.
  • Bonuses: Instagram says bonuses are time-limited and invite-only, with view minimums of up to 5 million. Mosseri calls the performance program small and says it loses money.
  • Features test: An Instagram representative told Variety it funds longer videos “directly with some creators right now”. It has announced no revenue share.
  • Facebook programs: Facebook Content Monetization and Creator Fast Track pay for content on Facebook. Instagram followers can help you qualify for Fast Track.
  • Brand numbers: A “per 1,000 views” figure for a brand deal is usually a flat fee divided by views. The same $500 fee can look like $50 or $0.50.
  • Bottom line: Plan your income around brands, fans, affiliate links and your own products. Treat any payment from Instagram as extra.

Does Instagram pay for views?

No published rate exists. Instagram’s earn-money pages list subscriptions, gifts, badges, bonuses, partnership ads and a creator marketplace, and none of them states a rate per view. Bonuses are the one listed program tied to performance, and they are invite-only. For most creators, a view earns nothing directly from Instagram.

Mosseri described the system on the Colin and Samir Show. “You can get paid by the platform directly, you can get paid by a fan, and you can get paid by a brand,” he said, and added that on Instagram “you primarily get paid by brands.” TechCrunch’s report from October 26, 2026 says Instagram does not typically pay creators on a per-view basis.

The table sorts each route by who pays and whether views set the payment. It uses Instagram’s earn-money page and the reports linked below (checked October 2026).

How much does Instagram pay per 1,000 views?

Instagram has published no figure, so nobody outside Meta can give a reliable number. Its bonus page gives no rate. A video-tools vendor, vidIQ, says that Instagram pay from views alone is effectively zero unless a brand deal is attached. Other guides print exact-looking numbers, and they disagree with each other by hundreds of times.

Those numbers are worth checking before you believe them. CapCut’s guide gives estimates of $0.01 to $0.05 per 1,000 views in one section and $10 to $20 per 1,000 views in another (checked October 2026). BuzzVoice’s guide gives the smaller range, credits it to a third-party site called AmericanFollowers, and says Meta publishes no rate card (checked October 2026). So treat these as estimates and do not plan income on them.

You may also see a 55% ad share quoted for Reels. Variety reported in October 2026 that Instagram is not planning a revenue-sharing program like YouTube’s. TechCrunch gives 55% as the share YouTube pays Partner Program creators on its ad revenue. Instagram’s earn-money page lists no ad-share program.

The vidIQ line comes through Social Media Today’s report on the Features test. Keep the source in mind, because vidIQ sells tools to video creators.

Are Instagram bonuses still available in 2026?

Yes, for a small invited group. Instagram’s bonus page says bonuses reward how your Reels and photo posts perform, and that they are time-limited and invite-only while it builds a sustainable program. The page sets view minimums, but meeting them does not guarantee an invitation. It lists no application form and no rate, so you cannot calculate a bonus in advance.

Mosseri gave a clear reason not to expect this program to grow. On the Colin and Samir Show he said, “We have still a small performance-based program, but … we spend more money than we make back by a long shot.” He added that it “doesn’t really make sense to scale up”. Net Influencer’s report adds that Instagram found creators “don’t produce a lot more when we pay.”

You can read the rules on Instagram’s bonuses page (checked October 2026). The Reels bonus needs at least 5 million views in the previous 3 calendar months, and it runs only in the US and South Korea. The bonus for posts needs 500,000 to 5 million views per month for 3 months in a row, depending on your region. The page says more bonus plays or views earn you more, and it counts up to 150 pieces of content.

Our guide to Instagram monetization requirements has the minimum for each region and every other program’s rules. Older guides talk about the Reels Play bonus, and NapoleonCat’s guide says Instagram no longer issues new invites to it.

The only public size marker I found is old. In April 2024, Tubefilter’s newsletter cited Business Insider on an invite-only spring bonus capped at $30,000 per creator for 30 days of engagement. That was a cap on one test, and it says nothing about what a typical invited creator earned.

Does Instagram pay creators for Features videos?

Some test creators get direct funding, and no public rate exists. Features is a test of horizontal videos up to 90 minutes, running in Brazil and with a small group of US creators. Instagram has announced no revenue share for it. A Meta spokesperson said it is too early to share a long-term monetization model.

The funding detail comes from Variety. An Instagram representative said the platform provides funding for longer content “directly with some creators right now to support them.” The amounts and the selection rules are not public.

Tessa Lyons, Instagram’s vice president of product, told The Hollywood Reporter that Instagram is working on “a few different deals” with early creators. The report says brand placements a creator already has can carry over into these videos.

The spokesperson also told TechCrunch that Meta is “exploring ways for creators to earn from brands, fans, and Instagram, including performance-based incentives.” That is a statement of intent. If you are outside the test, Features pays you nothing directly today, so judge it by what brand deals it could bring you.

Does Facebook Content Monetization pay for Instagram views?

Meta’s public description points to Facebook, and it does not describe payment for views on Instagram. Facebook Content Monetization pays for how content performs on Facebook, and Buffer describes it as invite-only. Creator Fast Track pays for sharing eligible Reels on Facebook. Instagram followers count toward Fast Track’s follower tiers, and the Reels you are paid for go on Facebook.

Meta’s post on Creator Fast Track from March 2026 gives the numbers. Creators earn $1,000 per month with at least 100,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube, or $3,000 per month with more than one million followers on one of them. The guaranteed pay lasts three months.

The same post says Facebook paid creators nearly $3 billion in 2025, up 35% on the year before. That money is Facebook’s, so it does not tell you what Instagram pays.

Buffer’s guide to earning on Facebook says Facebook sends Content Monetization invites periodically and has not shared the criteria (checked October 2026). It also lists Creator Fast Track as open to people in the US and Canada.

What do brands pay per 1,000 views on Instagram?

Brands commonly pay a fee per deal, so a “per 1,000 views” figure usually comes from dividing that fee by the views afterwards. The fee stays fixed while the views change. A strong Reel makes the rate look small, and a weak Reel makes it look large. The rate tells you how the post performed, and it is a poor way to price your work.

Most creators earn $0 from Instagram for views alone, shown beside an illustrative $500 brand fee that looks like $50, $5 or $0.50 per 1,000 views at 10,000, 100,000 and 1,000,000 views.

Here is the arithmetic for one illustrative $500 fee. The fee is an example, not a market rate.

Views on the ReelFee paidWhat it looks like per 1,000 views
10,000$500$50.00
100,000$500$5.00
1,000,000$500$0.50

A brand may still set its budget by reach, and a contract may pay by views, so read yours. If a deal includes usage rights or paid ads, the fee covers more than the views, which makes the per-1,000 figure even less useful.

To get a starting estimate, use the free Instagram money calculator. It estimates what a brand might pay you for a sponsored post, a Story or Reel, and a month of posts (4 posts plus 28 Stories). You enter your followers, engagement rate and niche, and it works from industry averages. These are educational estimates of fees paid by brands, and Instagram pays none of them.

How much do fans pay through gifts, badges and subscriptions?

Fan payments depend on what fans buy, and views only matter when they lead to a purchase. Gifts use Stars that fans send on Reels. Badges cost fans $0.99, $1.99 or $4.99 during a Live. Subscriptions charge a monthly fee for exclusive content. All three reward a loyal audience more than a large number of passing viewers.

Instagram’s badges page gives the most detail (checked October 2026). Each viewer can spend up to $250 per live video, and you get paid once you have earned at least $100. Apple and Google take 30% of in-app purchases as a commission, and the page says Instagram currently receives none of it. In the US, you need 10,000 or more followers and must be 18 or older. In the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Japan, Australia, Turkey, Brazil and Mexico, access is invite-only.

Instagram’s gifts page says fans buy Stars and send gifts on Reels, and that creators receive $0.01 for every Star, so 100 Stars is $1. It asks for 500 or more followers, age 18 or older and a listed country, and it pays once your balance reaches $25. Meta’s gifts announcement says you can check your eligibility in your Professional Dashboard.

Subscriptions are the steadiest of the three, because the income repeats each month. Our Instagram subscriptions guide for creators covers the requirements, the app store fee and what to offer. Mosseri has said he is unsure subscriptions will matter much, according to Net Influencer, so judge them by your own audience.

How do you turn Instagram views into income?

Connect each view to something a person can buy, or to a deal a brand will pay for. Views become money through a brand fee, an affiliate commission, or a sale of your own product. The value depends on your offer and how many viewers act on it. Two Reels with equal views can earn different amounts.

This illustrative table uses one Reel with 100,000 views. Every assumption is an example and none is a benchmark.

Income sourceExample assumptionsEarnedPer 1,000 views
Instagram per-view rateNone published$0$0
Affiliate link300 clicks, 3% buy, $4 commission$36$0.36
Digital product300 clicks, 2% buy, $29 price$174$1.74
Brand deal$500 flat fee$500$5.00

You do not need a huge account for the middle rows. Our guide to earning with a small following works through affiliate links, coaching and digital products for accounts of 500 to 5,000 followers. For income beyond Instagram, see how content creators make money across platforms.

The weak step is usually the distance between the view and the link. A viewer has to leave the Reel, open your profile and find the right link. With comment-to-DM automation, a viewer comments a keyword and CreatorFlow sends the link in a DM. On Pro and Growth, link click tracking counts the people who clicked, so you can compare posts by clicks and not only by views.

FAQ

How much does Instagram pay for 1 million views?

Instagram has published no amount for 1 million views. Without a bonus invitation or a funded test, a Reel with 1 million views earns $0 from Instagram directly. Your income from that Reel comes from brand fees, fan payments, affiliate sales or your own products.

Does Instagram pay for Reels?

Only in limited ways. Invited creators can earn bonuses based on Reels and photo performance, and eligible creators can receive gifts from fans on Reels. Instagram has no open program that pays all creators for Reel views.

How many views do you need to get paid on Instagram?

No view count leads to payment by itself, because no open per-view program exists. Bonuses publish view minimums, such as 5 million views in 3 calendar months for the Reels bonus, and you still need an invitation. Badges pay once you have earned $100 and Gifts once your balance reaches $25, and those are money thresholds.

Does Instagram pay you for followers or likes?

No. Instagram does not pay for followers or likes. Followers can raise what a brand offers you, and follower tiers set the guaranteed pay in Facebook’s Creator Fast Track. Likes do not create a payment on their own.

Can I apply for Instagram bonuses?

No. Instagram’s bonus page says bonuses are invite-only and gives no application form. It publishes view minimums and other rules, and it says that meeting them does not guarantee an invitation. Keep posting for your audience, and treat an invitation as a surprise, not a plan.

Does YouTube pay more than Instagram per view?

YouTube has a public model, and Instagram has no equivalent. TechCrunch reports that YouTube Partner Program creators get 55% of the ad revenue from their videos. YouTube pay still varies by video and audience, so compare your actual earnings and not a headline rate.

What does the Instagram money calculator estimate?

It estimates brand fees from your followers, engagement rate and niche, using industry averages. Brands pay these fees, and Instagram does not. Actual earnings vary with your niche, negotiation, audience and brand relationships.

Sources and checks

Sources checked October 30, 2026: Instagram’s earn-money, bonuses, gifts and badges pages; TechCrunch, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Social Media Today and Net Influencer on the Features test and Mosseri’s interview; and Meta’s Creator Fast Track post. Illustrative tables are arithmetic, not measured results, and none of this is a promise of earnings.
