How to Fix Instagram Connection Issues

Fixes for every common connection error between CreatorFlow and Instagram.

TL;DR:Most connection problems are fixed by clearing your browser cache, switching to a desktop browser, or checking that your Instagram is linked to a Facebook Page. Below are fixes for every common error.

"Already Attached to Another Workspace"

Your Instagram is connected to a different CreatorFlow workspace.

If you have access to the original workspace: Switch to it via the workspace switcher. Go to Workspace Settings > IG Account > Disconnect. Then connect in your new workspace.

If you deleted the original workspace: Contact hello@creatorflow.so with your Instagram username for a backend disconnect.

Warning

Disconnecting removes all automations permanently. Note down your automation settings before disconnecting.

Mobile OAuth Redirect Fails

After clicking "Allow" on Instagram's permissions screen, you see "The profile you're looking for doesn't exist" or a blank page.

Fix: Use a desktop browser to connect. You only need to do this once. After connecting, you can use CreatorFlow on any device.

"Account Not Found"

If CreatorFlow can't find your Instagram account, check the following:

1

Check spelling

Enter your username without the @ symbol.

2

Verify account type

You need a Business or Creator account (not Personal).

3

Switch account type

Go to Instagram > Settings > Account type and tools > Switch to professional account.

Facebook Page Missing

Your Instagram must be linked to a Facebook Page. If you don't have one, create it first:

1

Create a Facebook Page

Go to facebook.com > Menu > Pages > Create New Page. Fill in details and create.

2

Link Instagram to the Page

Go to your new Page > Settings > Linked Accounts > Instagram > Connect.

3

Wait for propagation

Wait up to 24 hours for the link to propagate through Meta's systems.

4

Try connecting again

Return to CreatorFlow and attempt the Instagram connection.

Admin required

Make sure you are an Admin on the Facebook Page. Editor or other roles won't have the permissions needed for the API connection.

"Access Denied — Not a Member of This Workspace"

This can happen after disconnecting and reconnecting Instagram.

1

Sign out completely

Sign out of CreatorFlow.

2

Sign back in

Sign back in with Google.

3

Check the workspace switcher

Make sure you're in the correct workspace.

Still seeing this?

If the issue persists, contact hello@creatorflow.so with your account email and workspace name.

Connection Worked Before but Stopped

Your token likely expired. This happens after a password change, security check from Instagram, or revoked permissions.

Fix: Go to Workspace Settings > IG Account and reconnect your Instagram.
