What Is a Public Reply?

A public reply is a visible comment CreatorFlow posts in response to someone's comment on your post. It appears publicly before the DM is sent.

Example: Someone comments "LINK" on your reel. CreatorFlow replies publicly with "Sent you a message! Check it out!" and then sends the DM privately.

Public replies are optional. You can skip them entirely.

Why Use Public Replies?

Social proof

Other people see that you're responding, which encourages more comments.

Visibility nudge

The commenter gets a notification about your reply, reminding them to check DMs.

How Do Reply Variations Work?

You can add multiple versions of your public reply. CreatorFlow rotates through them so your comments don't look identical.

Example variations:

- "Sent you a message! Check your DMs" - "Just DMed you! Let me know if you have questions" - "Check your inbox — the link is waiting for you!" - "Done! Just sent it over"

Each variation has a 280-character limit. One or two sentences is ideal.

Public replies only work on comment-triggered automations (not Story Reply or Keyword DM Reply). Each person gets one public reply per comment.

Do public reply variations work with story reply automations?+

No. Public replies only work on comment-triggered automations. Story reply and keyword DM reply automations do not support public replies because there is no public comment thread to respond to.

What happens if I only add one reply variation?+

CreatorFlow uses that single reply for every commenter. This works fine for low-volume posts, but on high-engagement posts the repeated identical comment can look automated. Adding 3-4 variations keeps it natural.

Can I include links or hashtags in public reply variations?+

You can include hashtags, but avoid putting links in public replies. Instagram may flag comments with links as spam. The link belongs in the DM, not the public reply.

Does the public reply count toward Instagram's comment limits?+

Yes. Public replies are posted from your account like regular comments. Instagram enforces rate limits on comment activity. If you have a very high volume of comments in a short window, some public replies may be delayed or skipped by Instagram.
